Information Shared Directly
Search entries
A name, location, or other term entered into the search feature is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that feature. Jim Wells County Busted Mugshots does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems. A search entry is not a request to, or a search of, Jim Wells County Sheriff, jail, court, or police records. The outside provider’s own privacy practices apply to the query after it is sent.
Messages and contact requests
If someone sends an email or uses a contact method, the message and contact details may be kept long enough to respond, address the request, and maintain a basic communication record. That information is not shared outside the organization except when disclosure is required by law or is necessary to protect the service, its users, or another person. For a question about this notice or a personal-data request, use Get in Touch.
Technical Visit Information
Like most web services, the site and its service providers may receive routine technical details when a page loads. These details help operate the service and diagnose performance or security issues. They are not treated as government booking, arrest, court, or custody records.
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Referring page or service, when one is supplied
- Visit timestamps and related request details
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies and similar browser tools may be used to understand how visitors use the service, keep it functioning, and support advertising or measurement services. A browser can usually block or delete cookies through its settings. Some portions of the service may work differently after cookies are blocked, and settings for outside providers are controlled through those providers’ own tools.
How Information Is Used
Information is used for ordinary service operations, not to create or maintain a public-records file. Common uses include the following:
- Operating, securing, and improving page delivery
- Sending a search request to the applicable partner service
- Understanding which material visitors find useful
- Finding, preventing, and correcting technical problems
- Supporting advertisements that may reflect general interests
Outside Links and Services
Links may lead to the Jim Wells County jail roster, Sheriff’s Department, city police pages, court resources, Texas Department of Criminal Justice material, search partners, news outlets, and other third-party services. Once a visitor follows one of those links, that organization’s privacy notice and data practices govern the visit. Jim Wells County Busted Mugshots does not control the content, availability, cookies, or information handling of an outside destination.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552, the Texas Public Information Act, governs access to records held by governmental bodies. It may apply to an appropriate Jim Wells County agency request, but it does not turn this privately run service into a public agency or a custodian of county, jail, court, or police records. Some advertising partners may also measure activity across websites through their own systems and under their own policies.
When Data May Be Disclosed
Personal information is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to the parties below when needed to operate the service or when the law requires it.
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and service performance
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertising
- Law enforcement or another government body responding to a valid legal order
Security Measures and Limits
Reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational steps are used to protect information handled by the service. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed against every loss, misuse, or unauthorized access. Visitors should use care before sending sensitive information through an online message.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult believes a minor has submitted personal information, contact the service through Get in Touch so the information can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Information Choices
Subject to applicable law and the information actually held, a person may ask to review, correct, delete, or limit certain handling of personal information. Cookie controls are also available through browser settings, and some external advertising or analytics services offer their own opt-out tools.
- Request a copy of personal information held about you
- Ask to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask for deletion of information that is no longer needed
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where that option applies
Requests should be sent through Get in Touch. A request for visitor data is separate from a request for a government-held booking, police, jail, or court record, which must go to the appropriate public custodian.
Revisions to This Notice
Privacy practices may change as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. An updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after a revision takes effect means the visitor accepts the updated notice.
